I’m Dr. Angel Perez, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in the care of children, adolescents, and adults. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through every stage of life—helping them navigate emotional and mental health challenges with empathy, expertise, and evidence-based care.

 

For the past 12 years, I served patients at Atlanta Area Family Psychiatry Clinic (AAFPC), working closely with children, teens, adults, and their families. That experience shaped my holistic, collaborative approach: integrating psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to deliver care that’s not only effective, but deeply personal.

 

Now, I’m honored to continue that mission through my own private practice, where every treatment plan is designed with care, clarity, and respect for your unique story.

 

A native of Puerto Rico, I graduated with honors in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan and earned my medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine. I completed my general psychiatry residency and a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, where I also served as Chief Resident at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.

 

My training included extensive clinical work across hospital, outpatient, and residential settings—such as Peachford Hospital, Ridgeview Institute, Hillside, and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.

 

I specialize in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), PTSD, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and schizophrenia. My goal is to help individuals achieve meaningful improvements in functioning, relationships, and overall well-being.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three wonderful boys. I also find joy in reading, watching great films, growing bonsai trees, and woodworking.
